Zaga dat! Mr Eazi Named Apple Music’s “Next Up” Artist

Nigerian singer and songwriter, Mr. Eazi is the latest African artist to cross the Atlantic and break into the American music industry.

The StarBoy Worldwide artist, who was recently named Apple Music’s “Up Next” star, seems ready to make a name for himself in the United States and seek additional success in the global music market.

Earlier this year, Apple launched its monthly “Up Next” series and introduced the world to talented artists like 6lack, Sigrid and rising R&B star Khalid. Mr Eazi, who has already earned success in Africa and the U.K., is hoping that this honor will increase his notoriety and help propel his career to new heights.

This announcement comes during the same month that fellow Nigerian artist, Wizkid, released “Sounds From The Other Side,” his first project backed by American record company Sony. WizKid is no stranger to Apple Music himself. His features on multiple Apple Music curated playlists and Beats 1 radio shows have shown to be prosperous for his career.

The stage has been set for Mr Eazi to capitalize on the world’s recent fascination with AfroBeat. The endorsement of Apple Music will undoubtedly increase his global popularity and give him access to new and exciting platforms.

Recently, Mr Eazi made his American television debut on The Late Show With James Corden. The singer performed a medley of his hit songs, Leg Over and In the Morning from his latest mixtape “Lagos to Accra”.

With Apple Music support and the doors open for American engagement, this can be a stepping stone towards a very fruitful career for Mr Eazi. As long as he continues to keep the culture at heart and produce good music, there’s no doubt he can’t go far.
